Omaha

We had a great trip to Omaha over the weekend with the Springer clan!  We headed out early Friday morning and went straight to the zoo.  It was the first time we’ve been to the zoo with the kids and they loved it.  Even Lincoln got into it and loved pointing out all of the animals.  We were hoping he would sleep in the car and get a good nap in before we arrived but of course he didn’t fall asleep until about 15 minutes before we got there.  Luckily I was able to get him to fall asleep after lunch and he slept for about an hour in the stroller while we walked around the zoo.  After the zoo we checked into the hotel and ate dinner and then did some swimming.

The boys loved the attached water park and it was just perfect for their age.  Wyatt went down the blue water slides in the kids section a million times and Gavin loved the bigger water slides and the lazy river.

Saturday the boys did more swimming in the morning and then we headed to the children’s museum in the afternoon and then had dinner in the old market area downtown.  The children’s museum was awesome and the boys loved watching the science experiments and playing in the grocery store.

After dinner there was more swimming and some playing in the arcade.  Looks like we might have some gamers on our hands J.

The only downfall of the trip was sleeping.  The first night was pretty rough because we were all in one room and each kid woke up multiple times and then would just wake up each other and Lincoln thought it was be a fun idea to wake up at 4:50 and not go back to sleep so I had some fun with him out in the lobby wondering around an empty hotel for a few hours.  Thankfully Gavin and Wyatt slept in Keith and Jan’s room the next night because Lincoln decided to have a 2 hour crying fit in the middle of the night.  Not sure what his deal was but he did sleep the entire way home on Sunday and thankfully has done great the last two nights at home.  He must have just missed his bed and normal routine.

Overall it was a great trip and we look forward to doing it again next year.
