Trains!

This weekend we were going to take the boys to the new aquarium in crown center but didn’t realize that it was the grand opening of lego land so when we drove by and saw a huge line of people waiting to get in we decided we’d probably have to try another day and headed to union station instead. Gavin has always loved all of the trains there and apparently Wyatt loves trains too. He was so cute! They have a huge room full of model trains and as soon as he saw them he just kept saying Whoa!!


Doesn’t this just bring a smile to your face :)

He loved the trains so much he stood in this corner for about 15 minutes and just watched them go by which is huge for him because typically he does not sit still for more than a minute with anything!

Weekend update

We had a nice chill weekend at home. It was an overcast cooler day on Saturday so we headed to the zoo that morning and the boys had a blast. It wasn’t very packed and we ventured to some areas we had never been before and found a kids playground which both boys loved. Gavin’s favorites were the tiger, snakes, riding the lion on the carousal and the polar bear. Wyatt was super cute this trip because he really got into the animals and pointed them all out and got super excited. I didn't take very many pictures but here are a few.

Some exciting news is that Wyatt finally started walking!!! He still is a little shaky but just keeps trying and trying which is awesome. It was so funny because he hasn’t really been that interested and has taken a step or two but that was about it so I was getting to the point where I thought it would never happen and then last night out of nowhere he just stood up and walked across the room and then turned around and did it again! Since then he has been standing up and trying to walk as many steps as he can all day. I love it and he gets so excited when he can do it.  Hopefully i can catch it on video one of these days.

In other exciting news Gavin finally received enough links for a special prize. We were using this as an incentive for good behavior and so far it has worked really well and if he is naughty he gets a link taken away and let’s just say that hits him much harder then having to go to time out lol. He was so cute this morning because he knew he only needed two more links so he woke up in such a great mood went right into the bathroom to go potty and was super helpful all morning and mornings are usually where we struggle. So anyways we went to Target and let him pick out his special prize and of course he picked a dinosaur.

Happy Easter

What a wonderful Easter weekend!  We headed up to Iowa on Friday night right after work and both boys were a little antsy so we were happy when we finally arrived.  We stayed with my parents on Friday night and Gavin colored eggs for the first time.  He loved it and was actually very careful the whole time.  Saturday we headed up to Des Moines and went to Easter service at the Church of Hope.  It was amazing like always and the boys did great.  They loved the music and Gavin even went up to the front during the children's sermon.  Saturday night we stayed with Ryan's parents and even got to sneak away for a few hours to see some friends.  Sunday morning the boys opened presents from the Easter bunny and then we headed to my grandparents for lunch and an easter egg hunt.  Gavin had so much fun exploring my grandparents yard, searching for eggs and running around with Avrie.  Wyatt slept through the egg hunt but loved playing in the grass and seeing the dogs when he woke up.  Here's some pictures from the weekend.  Gavin had so much fun and keeps asking if it's the weekend again and if we can go back to Iowa :).
