Gavin - Preschool Graduation

Gavin had his preschool graduation today at The Children’s Place.  I just can’t believe he’s done with preschool and so close to starting kindergarten.  This guy is growing up WAY too fast.  They had a little ceremony at their school this afternoon where the kids picked two songs that they wanted to sing for the parents.  They picked You are my Sunshine and Let it Go.  It was so cute.  Especially Let it go since some of the kids really got in to it.  Gavin was so excited when his teacher called his name to come down and get his diploma and I was totally getting teary.  Not sure why I am a ball of emotions lately but I was also getting teary when we attended his kindergarten camp as well and this is so not like me.  I love his teacher and really hope she’s still around teaching when Wyatt is his age.  Can’t believe it’s officially summer!  Gavin is taking swimming lessons with some of his classmates starting next week for two weeks and then will attend Safety City for a few hours a day the following week.  We have several vacations planned, Gavin has a month left of t-ball and then we signed up both boys for soccer so it should be a fun and busy summer.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great Memorial day weekend!  We traveled up to Minnesota to visit Derek and Jenny and celebrate Addy’s birthday.  It’s hard to believe that it’s been 2 years since we’ve been up to visit but I guess with a move, new baby and really long winter the time just gets away from you.  This was also our first road trip with all 3 kids.  I was really nervous but overall it went really well.  One thing that helped was our new car!  Ryan and I got a sitter and went car shopping after doing a little research online and just lucked out and found the perfect car/deal the weekend before.

We got a GMC Acadia and so far really love it.  Gavin was so excited to have his own seat in the back and not be squeezed between two car seats anymore.

The drive going to Minnesota started out a little rough.  Lincoln ended up sleeping in which is unusual and so of course he wasn’t ready to get in the car and sit for a long period of time.  We didn’t even make it an hour and had to pull over because he was screaming.  Luckily after getting him out and walking around a bit we got back in the car and he fell asleep and was pretty content the rest of the way.  Gavin was pretty funny and while Lincoln was screaming said that we should have just left him with Grandma along with the dog lol.

We had so much fun in Minnesota and the weather was amazing.  Saturday we went fishing and the boys had a blast.  Wyatt was so excited to use his new fishing pole and Gavin loved going around and giving everyone worms.  Addy was excited to catch the first fish and everyone loved getting to touch it and they all took turns getting to throw one back in.  We celebrated Addy’s birthday that night and had a yummy dinner and cake.

On Sunday we had lots of playing outdoors which  usually equates to digging in the dirt for my boys and then headed off to the zoo to see the new bug exhibit.  Wyatt loved the zoo and Lincoln did pretty good until the end when he got hungry and tired.  Gavin was tired as well and was being a bit of a grump at the beginning but then got better towards the end and liked getting to see the bear swimming right up along the glass and touching the shark and starfish.

On Monday we did some more playing outside and a trip to the park before loading up and heading home.  Everyone was pretty tired so the ride home was great.  Lincoln slept almost the entire way which was crazy, Wyatt took a good name and Gavin contently colored and watched movies in the back.

Lincoln got lots of attention from the girls over the weekend. They just loved playing with him and giving him hugs.  He also picked up some new skills.  He learned how to clap and can wave.  He’s also climbed up three of our stairs (yikes) and was a little crazy in the hotel going after everything he shouldn't like the curtains and the cords.  He’s a busy bee and definitely learning something new almost every day!

Lincoln - 9 months

Lincoln is 9 months and he has turned into such a little boy now.  It’s crazy and he is growing up way too fast!  He smiles and laughs all the time and loves sticking out his tongue and experimenting with making new sounds.  He can say mama, dada, baba, nana and lots of other squeaks and squeals.  He also loves to click and make the kissing sound and loves to give wet slobbery kisses.

He is on the move!  He can full on crawl now and is getting pretty good at it.  He’ll either crawl on all four’s or he’ll do a half crawl half bear walk where one knee isn't on the ground.  He’s really trying to pull up on things around him and has come really close to climbing up one of our stairs (yikes!).  He’s also just figured out how to pivot on his bottom when he’s sitting so now when he’s sitting and playing he’ll pivot around in a circle.  I swear it seems like this kid is learning some new skill every day.

He loves music and dancing.  Anytime he hears any song or sounds he will start to wiggle back and forth and smile.  It is so cute!  He gets super excited when you hold him and dance with him to a song.  He’s also becoming a little stinker which makes me wonder what kind of a toddler he’s going to be.  He loves to hit his head on things.  I’ve learned now not to give him a reaction but at first he would sometimes do it hard and I would say no no and he would look at me start to smile and giggle and then keep doing it.  So now he tests me all the time and tries to get a reaction, silly boy!

We’ve started to experiment with more thicker baby food and he’s had some puffs and yogurt bites.  He gagged a lot in the beginning getting used to the textures but now does pretty well.  He also has 2 teeth on the bottom now and I think he’s working on getting some on the top.

He loves his brothers and wants to get in on everything they are doing.  So far they’ve done a really good job of trying to include him or understanding when he takes one of their toys or breaks something that they were building.

We love this little boy so much and can’t wait to see what the next month brings.  I know I feel like a broken record in the sleep department but he just finally got over an awful cold which basically destroyed any progress we had made in that department so our goal this month is to get him sleeping in his bed and to try and wean him off nursing so much at night.  Looking back 10 months was Wyatt’s magical sleep through the night month so I’m really hoping we have the same luck with Lincoln.

We also had his 9 month check up this week and everything looked great.  We thought after that cold he might have gotten an ear infection because he's been pulling at his ears but turns out it's just teeth.  He's still our little peanut (minus that big brain of his lol) and these were his 9 month stats:

Weight - 19 lbs (27%), Height - 27.8 in (34%), Head - 46.5 (82%)
