Happy Easter

We had such a wonderful Easter this year.  The weather was amazing and we were very excited to be able to host my family at our house on Saturday for Brunch.  After brunch we all headed over to Hope for an amazing service.  The kids did such a great job at church and were so excited for the Easter egg hunt afterwards and just being able to play outside and enjoy the nice weather.

The Easter bunny found the boys on Sunday and they loved their gifts.  It was almost 80 on Sunday and we spent lots of time outside and were even able to get some landscaping done.  We are loving this warmer weather and are so happy that it finally feels like spring is here!

Lincoln - Eight Months

Eight months old and lots of updates.  Lincoln is rolling and army crawling all over the place!  He’s been scotching his bottom in the air a lot too but just can’t quite figure out how to move from that position yet.  He can also sit really well on his own now.

He’s talking quite a bit now with lots of different sounds and loves to sing and bounce along to music.  He also loves clicking his tongue and blowing raspberries.

Lincoln’s first tooth just broke through on Sunday.  He’s taken it pretty well so far and has just been chewing on everything.

We have made some progress in the sleep department.  He’s sleeping in his room each night for at least half of the night.  He still cries every night when we put him in there but at least it’s only about 10-20 minutes vs. the 2 hours that we started with.  Our goal is to get him sleeping in his room the entire night soon and hopefully we’ll actually get him to sleep through the night at least once.

He’s starting to enter that stranger anxiety phase and is a little apprehensive around new faces.  He’s also a big momma’s boy right now.  He will be playing contently with Ryan but if he sees me walk by then he’ll start fussing a little bit because he wants me to pick him up and play with him.  The other two went through this as well around this age but I’ll take the extra snuggles any day J.

Shot in the dark

Update overload today!  I just had to post this video because every time i watch it it just makes me laugh.  Wyatt dancing to his favorite song.  I thought he was just going to twirl but then he busts a move :).

Little Ninja's and Class Play

Gavin’s been very into Ninjago and so part of his birthday present was that we signed him up for Little Ninja classes.  They started at the end of February and were once a week until last week.  The class was for 4-6 year olds and they learned the basic moves.  Gavin loved going to Ninja class and had so much fun.  Last week was their test week.  It was pretty informal and the teacher demonstrated the moves first and then the kids had to repeat what they saw and then find partners and show them their skills.  Gavin was so excited that he got a metal and his first belt.  After class he told me that he wished Ninja class was just starting so he could do it all over again.  Sounds like we’ll be signing him up again in the fall.

Last week was also week of the young child at Gavin and Wyatt’s school.  They had a farm theme a lots of fun activities planned with dress up days, a magician, an Easter egg hunt for the kids Thursday night and then Gavin’s class put on a Farm Themed play for the parents on Friday.  Gavin did such a great job.  They all did a group song together and then there were four groups of kids that each had to recite a poem.  Gavin’s group was first.  He told me that he was the only one in his group that had the whole poem memorized so I told him he needed to be extra loud so they could all follow along with him.  I got a video of his part and you can see that he did a great job and wasn't scared at all by the audience.

Cousin Time

The last weekend in March Derek and Jenny came back for the weekend and we all had such a great time.  The weather was amazing and we spent lots of time outdoors.  The boys had so much fun with their cousins!  Saturday morning Lincoln and I stayed home but the rest of the crew headed to the mall to visit the wildlife exhibit and then they headed over to our house for lunch and then we spent the rest of the afternoon playing at the park and outside around our house.

That night we had reservations at Exile a restaurant/brewery downtown.  It was a really nice place and the food was great.  Thankfully we had a table that was a little more secluded against a wall but the kids did really well because we were there for a few hours.  Afterwards the kids watched Frozen and then Gavin had his first sleep-over and Will spent the night in his room.  It was pretty late after the movie and they both pretty much crashed.

Ready for some cartoons the next morning J.

Sunday was even nicer and we decided to head out to Grey’s lake for a walk around the lake.  I didn’t get very many pictures but the kids loved being about to run around and even dipped their feet in the water off the beach area.  Afterwards we ate a yummy dinner at Keith and Jan’s before heading home.  What a fun weekend.  I don’t think anyone was ready for it to end and the kids keep asking when their cousins are coming back for more fun.
