We had Gavin's 6 month check up this afternoon. He is still growing like crazy as i'm sure you can tell from all the pictures! He was 22.2 lbs and 29 inches long which are both in the 95th percentile for his age. What a big boy! We've been busy since our last post. Last weekend my parents came down to visit and brought Avrie along with them. It was great to see them and hear all about their trip to Africa and it was so cute to see Gavin and Avrie play together. It's crazy to see how much Avrie has grown and hard to believe she will be 1 soon. This past weekend we headed to Minneapolis for Addison's baptism. It was a long trip but thankfully Gavin did great in the car. It was great to see Derek, Jenny and Will and to finally meet Addison. She is so adorable and we feel truely blessed to be her godparents. It was also nice to see all the aunts, uncles and cousins that live in MN and this was the first time most of them got to meet Gavin. The only bad part was that the trip was too short. Enjoy the new pictures!

Happy 6 months Gavin!
It's hard to believe today is Gavin's 6 month b-day!! Gavin had a big first yesterday when we took him swimming for the first time. I think he had fun although he wasn't quite sure what to think of it at first. He was a little tired so he didn't get too wild but loved when Ryan pulled him around in the water. He's still working on the whole rolling over thing but has rolled over from his tummy to his back several times and i was able to capture one of them on video! I've also added some new pictures to the 6 months folder in the Picasa link so you can check out how big he's getting!

Happy 4th of July!
Hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend! We had a great weekend in Iowa. On Friday morning Ryan and I got a new car. We are very excited to finally have an SUV! Then we spent the rest of the day at Jen and Jason's and Gavin got to play with his cousin Avrie and we also got to see Jess and some other friends. On Saturday we took Gavin to his first parade in Urbandale. He did a great job. Got startled a few times by the firetrucks and police cars but other than that loved looking around and taking everything in. Saturday night Ryan and I were able to sneak away and see a movie and then got home in time to catch some fireworks. Gavin was up to catch a few of them and we were surprised that the noise didn't bother him at all. My cousin Megan and her husband Doug welcomed little Jack Douglas on the 4th as well. Congratulations to both of them and we can't wait to see pictures and meet the little guy! Tonight Gavin tried his first real baby food sweet peas and loved them! It's going to be fun to see how he does with all the other foods. It's hard to believe that he is going to be 6 months in a week! Enjoy the new pictures.
