37 weeks!

I reached 37 weeks on Wednesday and am finally full term, yay! I had my doctor's appointment on Tuesday and it went really well. We had a good discussion around what my options would and I felt much better. I was still measuring a little ahead so we are going to have an ultrasound next week to check on the baby's size so that we can have a better idea of what we're dealing with. I have been about 1 1/2 cent. dialated and 50% effaced for the last two weeks so i'm really hoping i've made more progress by my appointment next week so that i will be favorable for a possible induction the following week if the baby is measuring large and i haven't gone into labor yet. I guess we'll see but send labor vibes my way :). I'm really hoping i can just go into labor on my own sometime soon since it's pretty likely this will be another big baby. Here is a new belly pic.. it's getting pretty big!

Happy Birthday Gavin!!!

We had a great time celebrating with family last weekend and Gavin got lots of great gifts that will keep him entertained this winter and busy while we are preoccupied with the baby! He had so much fun playing with Avrie and did a great job with all of the commotion especially since he decided he didn’t want to take a nap that day. We had his 2 year check up this morning and he is still in the 90-95 % for height and weight and was 31 ½ pounds and 36 ½ inches tall. He is such a big boy now! It just amazes me how much he is saying and how much he actually comprehends what you say and will remember or respond appropriately days or weeks later if you are talking about the same topic. He has developed quite the personality and will definitely let you know his opinion if there is something that he likes or doesn’t like and wants to try and do everything himself if he can. He is quite the little helper and loves helping with laundry, dishes or watching us make dinner. He still loves reading books, dancing, playing with his blocks, legos, dinosaurs and cars and really loves Toy Story 3 and all the characters. He also loves Elmo and Sesame Street so we did an Elmo theme for his birthday and then for his present got him tickets to go see Sesame Street live tomorrow at the Sprint Center. It will be interesting to see how he does. We’re hoping the interaction and songs will keep his attention but we’ll see! He transitioned to his big boy bed after Christmas and so far it’s gone really well. It definitely takes him longer to get situated and fall asleep at night then it did in his crib but once he’s asleep he’s out all night and hasn’t once tried to get out of bed in the middle of the night so that’s good. Enjoy the pictures below from Christmas and his birthday.

34 week update

So I had my doctor’s appointment on Monday and somehow all of the sudden I am measuring 2 weeks ahead! Not sure how that happened since I have been right on track or behind up to this point but they were a little concerned with that and had me do a quick ultrasound to check the size of the baby. From the ultrasound the baby was measuring 10 days ahead which is in the 72nd percentile which the ultrasound tech didn’t think was too abnormal but since I’m hoping for a VBAC it did raise some red flags since it looks like I’m going to have a bigger baby. She said that we will definitely want to keep an eye on the baby’s size and recheck around 38 weeks. If I go into labor before then I’ll be fine but if at 38 weeks it looks like I’m going to have another big baby we will probably have to reevaluate the plan :(. I don’t know what it is about me and big babies but now I’m really hoping I go into labor early so I can hopefully avoid another c-section. I guess only time will tell!! On a positive note, the ultrasound was really quick but she did get a close up of the babies face and switched it to 4D which I have never seen before so we did get a few quick pictures of our little (or should I say big) guy :). I think he looks like Ryan. What do you think???

33 weeks, 23 months!

I’m 33 weeks and overall I’ve been doing pretty good just the usual aches and pains that go along with the third trimester although they definitely seem to be worse this time around. I have found that yoga seems to help some so I’ve been trying to do that at least once a week. Enjoy the new belly pic and some new pictures of Gavin over the last month. We had fun seeing family over Thanksgiving and Gavin loved getting to play with Avrie. We also got our Christmas tree a few weeks ago and Gavin got to meet Santa last weekend. He was really interested in Santa from afar but definitely didn’t want to sit on his lap. He continues to keep us busy and quite entertained these days. He really loves music and dancing and his skills have upgraded from bouncing in place to dancing in circles swinging his arms very seriously. It is so cute! I uploaded a video under the picasa link - Gavin Videos of him dancing to some music a few weeks ago. We are getting ready for Christmas and look forward to seeing the rest of the family in a few weeks.

27 weeks!

I finished my 27th week on Wednesday. It's gone really fast but I’m definitely feeling it and looking it lol. I had my dr's appointment on Thursday and everything looks good. I had my glucose test and we got to hear the baby's heartbeat which took her awhile to find since he is so active and is all the time kicking and punching and doing somersaults :). It's hard to believe that after my next appointment i will start going every two weeks. I know these next few months will go fast with all of the holidays but needless to say i am starting to count down for the big day. It's definitely much harder this time around chasing a toddler and not getting to rest as much as I should. We've started making progress on the boys room and had Gavin's big boy bed delivered on Thursday. We probably won't transition him until closer to his birthday after all the holidays but he is excited about his new bed and I think that will help make the transition easier. Just don't want to do it too soon since he sleeps so well in his crib now. Enjoy the new belly pic, it's getting bigger :).

Happy Halloween!

Hope everyone had a great Halloween! Gavin was a cow this year and he looked so cute in his costume and actually did a good job trick or treating… much better than we expected. We were in Des Moines on Saturday for the ISU game so we took him to a few houses in Ryan's parents neighborhood and he did great walking up to the houses and picking out candy and saying thank you... wasn't shy at all once he got the hang of it. He also got to experience a tootsie pop for the first time that night and loved it. We had our trick or treating last night so we took him to a few of our neighbor’s houses and he made sure to pick out his favorite the suckers whenever available! Enjoy the pics below from Halloween and there are also a few from a few weeks ago when we took Gavin on the Pumpkin express train ride and had a quick visit from my aunt Marla who finally got to meet Gavin for the first time. We are getting ready to head up to Iowa tomorrow for Election Day and spend the night with my mom and watch the votes come in. Should be an exciting night!

23 weeks

Here is a new belly pic at 23 weeks. As you can see my belly has grown quite a bit! I feel huge but at my doctor's appt this week she said I was measuring on track and maybe even a little behind so i guess i'll take it :). Last weekend we had fun taking Gavin to the pumpkin patch and he had a blast looking at all the pumkins and petting the animals. We also started moving Gavin into his new room and making his room into the guest bedroom and as you can tell from the pictures below he had a great time playing in all the pillows/blankets from the bed as we were rearranging.
