Christmas Tree

Some pictures of the boys decorating the christmas tree, the finished product and trying to get all of them to sit still and look at the camera (impossible!)

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving break with lots of downtime and lounging at home which is just what we needed!  On Thursday we went over to my parent’s house for lunch.

Lincoln loved eating the frosting from my pumpkin bars

Friday we just hung out at home and started to get into the Christmas spirit by pulling out the Christmas decorations.

Saturday we headed to a new Christmas tree farm to pick out our Christmas tree.  A tradition that I love doing each year.  We loved the place.  So many great trees to pick from and a much better experience than where we went last year.  Although it was a cold one the kids had a great time and were very excited to decorate the tree.

The tree Gavin wanted (because it's his favorite color :))

Saturday night we headed over to Ryan’s parents’ house for dessert to celebrate Keith’s birthday.  Sunday we relaxed at home in the morning and then had family pictures that evening.  The kids overall did great and I can’t wait to see the finished product.  Only downfall is that we’ve been all trying to get over colds for what feels like a month and both Ainsley and Lincoln’s really escalated Sunday night which made a not so fun return to work this week with a trip to the doctor and several days home for Lincoln L.  Luckily they are both on the mend hopefully for a while to come.

Family picture sneak peak.  Lincoln was terrified of Santa :).

Current obsessions

So Gavin and Wyatt’s new obsession is Pokemon.  Gavin’s first got into them from his cousin Will and Wyatt had been begging for some pokemon cards so he could play too.  The boys lucked out and the switch witch brought each of them some new cards after Halloween and it has been a full out obsession since.  Especially Wyatt who carries his cards everywhere.   Only problem is that he also leaves them everywhere and then meltdowns ensue when he can’t find said pokemon.  I guess if anything it’s allowed us to teach a lesson on fairness in trading and not just doing what your older brother/cousin suggests.  Will convinced Gavin that he needed a certain card so Gavin decided he to give Will all his money from his piggy bank so he could go buy it (luckily we found out and all was returned but a good lesson non the less).  Wyatt has also fallen for Gavin’s traps and traded a good card for several not so great cards and is slowly figuring out the game.  My only problem is that I find these cards everywhere (see below) which is annoying but I’m learning all about these lovely creatures just like I have gotten to know every super hero and all about Star Wars.  Some of the perks about having boys J.

Lincoln also has some crazy obsessions’ these days.  The first is this movie call Walking with Dinosaurs.  We recorded back when we had HBO and he is obsessed and wants to watch it every waking moment and to be honest it’s not that great of a movie.  It was so much better when the boys were into Tangled or Frozen.  Those movies I can handle watching over and over J.  His other weird obsession are toy reviews.  Who would have thought that it would be fun for kids to watch other kids play with toys but he is mesmerized and loves it.  We randomly stumbled upon them on YouTube and they are a hit.  If you need to keep a toddler still for a few minutes check out Ryan’s toy reviews.  Each one has over a million views they are so popular.

Ainsley's nursery

I finally got around to taking pictures of Ainsley's nursey.  I kept the wall color the same and then accented with pink, purple and gold.  It was so fun to finally get to decorate with my favorite color, purple!!  I love the way it turned out and should be pretty easy to eventually convert to a big girl room.

Ainsley 5 months

Ainsley turned 5 months old on Saturday and she is one busy girl.  She can roll over both ways although she prefers to just scooch across the floor on her back.  She loves bath time and just discovered that she can kick her legs and splash in the water.  She’s very into toys and will sit under her play mat and grab at toys very contently by herself.  She loves to be held and in on all the action watching what everyone is doing around her and will grab anything in her reach.  I was holding her one time while eating dinner and in a matter of seconds she grabbed my plate and almost tossed it on the ground J.  It’s been interesting teaching Lincoln that she’s not purposely trying to grab or hit him but more learning how to use her hands and control her arms when they are near each other but overall he’s been really good with her.

She loves her brothers so much and they can get her to laugh all the time.  Much more than Ryan or I.  She’s still our content, happy little baby.  This month sleep was a little rough and I’m preparing myself for a rough next month as we transition out of the swaddle and move her into her room but hopefully once that’s done she’ll get back to sleeping like she used to.

Time is just going too fast and we love every minute we get to spend with her.
