I'm am still in awe of the amazing weather that we have been having these past few weeks. Every day has either been in the high 70's, 80's and we even reached 90 last weekend. We have been thoroughly enjoying this warm weather considering that the last few years we still had snow around this time. I have to keep reminding myself that it's only April since all of our plants are blooming, our grass is green and it feels like we should be heading to the pool! We've taken advantage of the amazing weather and have taken the boys to the zoo, gone to the park, gone on lots of walks and played outside. Below are some new pictures from the last few weeks.

Chick Pics
My co-workers introduced me to chick pics and i thought it was such a cute idea. A quick and fun way to get some spring pictures of the boys and give them an opportunity to play with some baby chicks. The only downfall was that I had to book the session while Ryan was in Vegas but luckily it went really well and the boys behaved :). Gavin LOVED it and asked if we could do it again the next weekend. Wyatt had just woken up so he was pretty clingy to me but did warm up some at the end so she was able to get a few pictures of him as well. Here are some of my favorites.

Babysitter, anyone??
So Ryan and I thought we would be brave and venture out to NFM Friday night to browse for some carpet since this has been on our to do list forever. Well we quickly found out that it doesn’t appear that we will be getting new carpet anytime soon unless we can convince someone to come babysit the boys or we take a vacation day to finish our shopping. This is how our about 15 minute trip to NFM went.
Walked through the door. I was pushing Wyatt in a little umbrella stroller and Gavin was holding Ryan’s hand. So far so good! We made our way back to the carpet samples which is totally overwhelming for someone that doesn’t know anything about carpet and start doing some light browsing which mainly consists of going around and feeling the different carpet trying to find something that feels soft and seems durable. I was still pushing Wyatt in the stroller and Gavin was near us walking through the different isles also feeling the carpet. Some sales guy walks over to Ryan and this is where it gets crazy. I’m trying to hear what the guys is saying but notice that Gavin has run off and is pulling all the carpet samples off the racks onto the floor and laughing/screaming while doing it. I start to push Wyatt to go chase after Gavin but he starts fussing and tries to throw himself out of the stroller so I have to quick unbuckle him and yell for Gavin to come back. He’s running like mad now through all the rows of carpet and anytime he sees me he burst out laughing and takes off further, not funny! I finally end up putting Wyatt down on the ground somewhat near Ryan and he is having a blast pounding his hands on all the carpet samples that Gavin ripped off the racks. I chase after Gavin and he takes off again and then face plants on the ground and starts bawling really loud. I pick him up and talk to him about how he can’t keep running off and needs to listen. So we decide we’ve done enough damage in the carpet dept and decide to venture over to the dryers quick to check them out and are walking with Gavin holding our hand but then he decides he needs to take off again and face plants again. He gets picked up and we decided it’s time to leave. Wyatt didn’t want to be put back in the stroller and Gavin through a huge fit because he didn’t want to leave so we managed to half walk half run to the car and force two unhappy boys into the car. What a commotion and two stressed out parents. Whoever said it’s the terrible threes and not twos, definitely agreeing with ya ;).

Playtime
We had lots of playtime this weekend while Ryan was in Vegas and i made sure to take lots of pictures since i haven't been very good about it lately.
Built lots of big towers
Played lots of basketball with all sorts of objects
Wyatt managed to get stuck in lots of unusual places
Went to work on the tool bench
Coloring our dinosaur train book
We also enjoyed the amazing weather and went on lots of walks and I also decided to get the water table out for the first time on Sunday. Both of the boys loved it especially Wyatt who kept trying to put his face in the water. He is going to be so fun this summer in the pool since he is a little fish in the tub.
Apparently I wore the boys out because they both took a 3hour nap on Sunday and even at the same time which is unheard of from Gavin since he has pretty much given up taking a weekend nap unless he happens to fall asleep in the car. Needless to say I was very happy to see Ryan return. It's quite exhausting running after and picking up after two little boys :).

5 generations
I finally got a copy of some five generation photos we took over New Years.
My mom, my Grandpa Charles and Great Grandpa John. So thankful and lucky that he is still in our lives and we are even able to take this picture. He turned 96 last year and is on facebook and does e-mail. How cool is that :).

Wyatt's first haircut
Wyatt got his hair cut for the first time yesterday and did great! He didn't love it but didn't really cry at all just tried to get out of the chair a few times. We basically just did a trim around the face and ears and left most of the curls in the back but he looks like such a big boy now. We got a cute 1st haircut certificate and I just love his expression in the after photo lol. We could not get him to smile.
Gavin also got his haircut and is a pro at it by now. We did however manage to get out of the store without buying a new toy and he only had 1 sucker which is huge. This time he waited patiently until after his haircut to get the sucker vs. chopping down 3-4 during. He is just growing up so much!
He even got a cool spinosaurs spike. Doesn't he look so grown up!

Transitions
Both Wyatt and Gavin have transitioned to new rooms at school. Wyatt transitioned to the 1 year old classroom and is doing great. Ryan had to take the kids the end of last week which was the first time we started going straight to his new room and of course he made drop off super easy for Ryan. I got to take him this week and have been greeted with lots of crying and clinging each morning. Luckily his teachers say that he’s basically done a few minutes after I leave and he’s always in a happy mood when I pick him up but always make me feel bad. If anything I guess I feel loved lol. Gavin also began his transition to preschool last week. I was a little nervous about how this would go because he is very much a routine guy and doesn’t always handle transition well but he was SO excited to finally go to preschool. I think it helped that one of his really good buddies is in his class as well because I dropped him off that morning and he basically said go mom right away which never happens lol. We did get off to a little bit of a rocky start due to some lack of communication between Gavin’s old teachers and new teachers that created some frustration on my part and confusion for Gavin but luckily we got everything sorted out and he is loving the time he gets to spend in his new class. We are still dropping him off in his old room but after breakfast his new teacher comes to get him and he’s been spending the rest of the day in preschool. It’s been going so well that I’m thinking we’ll probably just get to go straight to preschool next week.
What else is new?
On the Wyatt front he’s still not walking but does really well with a walker and just within the last week has really been interested in walking around while holding your hands. He can also say uh oh and bye bye when asked which is super cute and blow kisses. Still gets into everything and loves cars. He also loves food and continues to be a great eater. Last night for dinner alone he ate two pieces of pizza, peas, blueberries and yogurt bites! He is also starting to really pay attention to Roxy and does a great job with being gentle. We try to play fetch with her but most of the time it ends up being fetch with Wyatt because he crawls down the hallway and gets her toy while she just sits and watches :).
As for Gavin he continues to make us laugh every day. He is so creative and has a huge imagination and an incredible memory. He continues to be obsessed with dinosaurs and right now pretty much refuses to wear anything other than a dinosaur shirt to school so he basically wears the same 5 shirts to school every week. I think he’s going to be a lawyer like his daddy because he is constantly negotiating a new bed time deal or some way to factor in dessert or the ability to watch some movie before doing one of his tasks. Other than wearing a pull up at night and sometimes at nap he has finally mastered the whole potty training thing. We are still working on going #2 in the big potty so we can get rid of the little potties but aren’t quite there yet. Seems like with Gavin you have to talk about an idea for a while until finally it seems like his own idea and he decides it’s time. We are also working on being more independent and having him get dressed by himself and put on/take off his own shoes. He just never really expressed any interest in doing it himself before so we always did it for him but now we’re pushing him to do it himself even if it takes a little longer to get going in the morning and he’s doing a great job and gets very excited when he can do it.
I wasn’t very good about taking pictures this month but did upload some new ones to the February folder in Picasa.
