Photo Dump

This is a random photo dump of pictures from the last few weeks since I’ve been a little bad about getting updates on the blog J.

Wyatt and Lincoln had multicultural night at their school a few weeks ago.  This is such a fun event and the teachers do such an amazing job decorating the rooms with the kids help.  Each room is a different country and you learn all about the country, can try food from that country and participate in crafts.  Lincoln’s room was Thailand this year and Wyatt’s was Chad.  All the boys had so much fun and Lincoln really got into the crafts in each room.  It was fun to see him explore and do more of the big kid activities.

Two weekends ago I headed to Kansas City for the weekend with my mom, grandma and sister for some Christmas shopping.  I didn’t get any pictures of our trip but we had a blast.  While I was gone Gavin thought it would be a great idea to cut some of his hair during craft time with daddy.  Luckily it’s not very noticeable and Ryan happened to turn around just in time to prevent Wyatt from cutting his hair.  I think the boys learned their lesson and hopefully there won’t be any more cut hair anytime soon.

Lately the older two have been really good at playing independently with each other while we clean the kitchen after dinner.  I snapped this picture of the two of them playing candy land the other day.  They've been really into playing games lately and it’s so fun to watch them play independently.

This past weekend my aunt Shelia got Gavin and I tickets to go see the Best Christmas Pageant Ever at the Des Moines playhouse along with Jess, Jen, Avrie and my cousin Megan and her daughter Taylor.  We all had such a fun time and the play was so good.  The kids that performed were amazing and it was such a fun experience for the kids.

Lincoln - 15 months

It’s hard to believe Lincoln is already 15 months old but he is such a big boy lately with quite the little personality!  We had his 15 month appointment today and he loved the doctor.  They were playing games together and he just giggled the whole time until his shots.  He’s still our little peanut at 21 lbs 3 ozs (9%) and 30.8 inches (38%) but is in good health.  Just has a little cold and has been working on getting his molars which hasn't been fun for any of us.

Things he loves: His brothers and the dog (especially sharing his food with the dog), his little blanket that he uses for comfort since he never took a paci, coloring although we have to be careful because the crayons usually find their way into his mouth, reading books especially ones with animals, and climbing on everything.

Within the last few days he’s really picked up on his walking.  He still crawls but has been walking more and more and is starting to get better at his balance.  One game he loves to play is to push his walker or a basket/box around the house and when he comes around the corner he just cracks up and say boo.  It is so cute!  He’s also talking so much these days and will try to repeat almost any word you say.  Some of the words he knows are yeah, no, bye bye, mama, dada, brothers, dog, ball, boo, night night, milk, more, door, duck, burr, hat, papa, bubble and probably more I’m just forgetting J. He also knows lots of animal sounds like a monkey, tiger, snake, dog, horse and cow and loves making those sounds when he sees the animals in a book.

We did get his first haircut on Sunday.  His hair was getting so long and he really just needed a trim.  Luckily the lady cute super-fast because he was not a fan and cried the entire time.  Although he did enjoy the sucker and wasn’t very happy with me when I had to take it away once it was almost gone.

Looking forward to all the holidays coming up and excited to see what Lincoln will be like this Christmas.

Halloween 2014

The boys had such a fun Halloween this year.  We carved pumpkins last Sunday.  Lincoln had fun playing with the mushy stuff and throwing it on the ground.  The older two weren't very into it this year.  They had fun scooping the goop out in the beginning but then decided they would rather go play in the yard so they picked out their designs and let me do the carving.  Gavin wanted the bat and Wyatt wanted a scary pumpkin face.  They were excited to see the final product.

Trick or treating was on Thursday night for us and the boys were very excited.  My dad came over along with Jen, Jason and their kids and we went trick or treating around the neighborhood.  It ended up being the nicest night of the week so we really lucked out because Friday was pretty cold.  Everyone had a great time and we really only went up and down two streets and then they were ready to head back home so they could start digging into their candy.  Lincoln was so funny this year.  He loved his monkey costume and every time he saw it he would just make monkey noises.  It’s so cute that we were able to have each of the boys wear it.

Wyatt and Lincoln had trick or treating at their school on Friday and brought home way more candy than they got the night before.  We’re going to have to get it out of the house or I’m afraid I’ll eat most of it :).  I volunteered to help with Gavin’s Halloween party at school.  That ended up being a lot of fun and it was nice to get to meet some of the parents and get to know the kids in his class.

The 3 monkeys:

Hard to believe it’s November.  Next up is the election!

Leaves!

The boys have enjoyed all the leaves and leave piles again this year.  I think we finally have most of our leaves bagged and out of yard but they sure had a fun time jumping in the piles, burying each other and trying to catch the leaves and the fell of the branches.

Pumpkin Patch 2014

The weather turned out to be really nice last Saturday and we needed to get out of the house for a few hours so we decided to head to the pumpkin patch.  It was busy I think because of the nice weather but the boys had so much fun.  Gavin and Wyatt both got to ride a pony, went down slides and climbed up hay bales, road a tractor out to the pumpkin patch, picked out their pumpkins and got to wash them and get them all ready to bring home.  Hopefully we can find some time tomorrow to carve our pumpkins!
