Wyatt potty training

So our plan was to do the 3-day potty training with Wyatt like we did with Gavin and start a few weekends ago when we finally had some down-time with no plans.  Well we ended up getting a note from Wyatt’s teacher on Friday of the week prior stating that he was ready for potty training and to go ahead and send him in underwear the following Monday.  We knew he was doing really well in pull-ups going potty so we thought let’s give it a shot and see how it goes so he went to school that Monday with undies on and did so good all week with only two accidents.  His biggest challenge was getting used to pooping in the potty but we were able to get him to go that weekend and he hasn’t had an issue since.  Then the following week he went all week with no accidents at school and has only had one accident this week.  We are so proud of him and he is so thrilled to be a big boy wearing big boy undies.

Leaves

We’ve never had a yard that had big trees with leaves before and the boys had so much fun this year helping to rake the leaves and jump in the giant leave piles.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from IronMan, Super Why and my little pumpkin!

The boys had so much fun with Halloween this year.  We carved pumpkins last weekend and they liked helping scoop the gunk out and picking out the designs.

Then on Halloween they had a parade at their school where they got a ton of candy.  I was able to go watch and it was so cute to see all the kids parading around in their costumes.  There were lots of superheros.  Then that night my mom and Jen/Jason and their kids came over for trick or treating.  My mom, Jen and I hung out at home with the babies and handed out candy while Jason and Ryan took the older kids around the neighborhood.  They had so much fun with their cousins and got way too much candy.  Not sure what we are going to do with it all because I definitely don’t need it sitting around the house within my reach J.

The boys even had their own jokes that they told at the houses.
Gavin’s was Why didn’t the skeleton cross the road?  Because he didn’t have any guts.
Wyatt’s was Why did the cow have a bell?  Because he didn’t have any horns.

So cute to hear them tell them.  They are also in love with their costumes and have worn them almost every night leading up to Halloween and every night since.  They love dressing up and there aren’t a lot of dress up clothes for boys so I purchased a few extra costumes on sale after Halloween so they can have a dress up drawer to play with the rest of the year.

Lincoln - 2 months old

Wow, it’s hard to believe that Lincoln is already two months old and that I have about 2 ½ weeks of maternity leave left.  I’m definitely not ready to go back to work yet L.  This past month has been a challenging one to say the least.  I thought the third was supposed to be the easy going, laid back baby but unfortunately Lincoln has proved that theory wrong.  Hopefully he will be the easy going laid back toddler J.  At least I can say that things do seem to be improving but we’ve had some challenges with sleeping.  He doesn’t sleep that great at night due to gas which causes him to wake more frequently and be fussier than normal so I typically don’t get more than a 2-3 hour stretch of sleep at a time if I’m luckily.  He’s also gone through a fun phase of fighting sleep so it was taking over an hour of rocking and walking the halls with him just to get him to finally go to sleep and then after laying him down he would immediately wake up and we would have to start all over.  Or he would only sleep if I was holding him which didn’t really allow me to catch up on any missed sleep or allow me to get anything done around the house.  The other bummer is that he doesn’t really love his car seat.  I was really looking forward to enjoying the nice fall weather by going on lots of long walks around the neighborhood but we tried it a couple of times and they ended pretty quickly because he would just cry.  I’m hoping this will change as he gets older.

The one big accomplishment this month is that he will now drink out of a bottle.  We had to go buy a new brand but I am so thankful that we got that done, one less stressor for my return to work.  He is also smiling and cooing all the time which is just adorable and makes you forget how tired and frustrated you might be.  He is much more alert now and loves being held facing out so he can look around and see what’s going on and will smile when he hears his brothers talking to him.  We had his doctor’s appointment yesterday and he is a growing boy.  He was up to 12 lbs 6 ozs (65%) and was 22.8 inches long (42%).  He’s finally moved up to the 3 month clothing and moved out of the newborn diapers.  He is such an adorable little guy and we all just love him to pieces!

Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend I took Gavin and Wyatt to the pumpkin patch outside of Earlham with my parents and Jen and her kids.  Although it was a little chilly the boys had a blast playing with their cousins and it was nice to get out of the house for a little bit.  They each picked out the biggest pumpkins they could find and can't wait to carve them this coming weekend.

Soccer

The boys just finished the fall session of soccer with Happy Feet and had a great time.  They had a 2 year old league so even Wyatt got to participate and he loved getting to play like Gavin.  Below are a few pictures/videos that I captured on my phone.
