With the older boys gone we got to spend some quality time with Lincoln. He got a build a bear gift card for his birthday so it was a perfect time to take him and let him build a bear. He loved watching the bear get made and giving it a bath. He picked out a Star Wars shirt which his brothers loved and named his bear Ainsley :). Such a great day and a perfect way to officially end the summer.

Iowa State Fair and Build and Bear
Wyatt has been wanting to go to the fair since it started and has been asking about it every day. I love the fair but we had already decided it would be too hard this year with Ainsley and tried to break it to him but he wasn't taking the news lightly. He lucked out because my parents had free tickets to the fair and wanted to take the boys. The older two ended up going on Sunday and had a blast. They loved going down the big slide, going on rides, the stem activities, seeing the animals and eating ice cream. They had amazing weather and a really fun day.

Gavin - soccer
Gavin just finished his summer session of soccer. It was a hot season but he had a blast and the group he played with this year met at the church by our house so we were able to just walk to his games which was very convenient. It's always so fun to see how much his skills and confidence improve over the season. He always starts out playing mainly defense and not very aggressive in trying to score but by the end of the season he was scoring goals and passing to other team members so they could score. He was on a really good team this year and they won all their games :). We are sad to see the end of a fun season but Gavin is looking forward to playing flag football next.

Ainsley - 2 months
I can’t believe Ainsley is already 2 months old! This summer has just flown by and I only have
3 more weeks left of my maternity leave left.
She has been such a good baby and I’m really not ready for my leave to
be over already. She has grown so much
over the last month. We had her doctor’s
appointment yesterday and she was 12 lbs (77%) and 23 inches long (71%). She smiles and coos all the time now and has discovered her hands and tongue. Loves going on walks and does well riding in
the car. The only time she really gets fussy
is if she gets overtired and even then doesn’t really cry much. We are just having so much fun loving on her
and I’m trying to enjoy every stage since she’s our last baby.
She’s been an amazing sleeper (the best out of all the
babies so far). Within the last week she
been giving me about a 5-6 hour stretch of sleep before waking to feed and then
usually goes back down pretty easily. I’m
hoping she will keep this up but she’s been sleeping in her chair so I’ve been
trying to transition her to her crib starting with her naps and that hasn’t
been going very well so far so hopefully by next month she’ll be sleeping in
her crib in her own room. She does like
a pacifier and although she hasn’t had a ton of bottles the ones she has had
she’s drank without any problems so at least we don’t have any issues in that
area.
Overall we just love this little girl to pieces and love
seeing how much she continues to change and explore the world around her more
and more each day.

Gavin - snaggletooth
Here's a before and after picture.
The only bad thing is that now that his tooth is gone his other front tooth has gotten wigglier and we now have another snaggletooth :). The countdown is on to see if he'll loose that one before school starts.
Update - Gavin's been really wiggling that loose tooth and just pushed it out with his tongue this morning (8/12). Good news - no snaggletooth for picture day and another visit from the tooth fairy :).
