Self-portrait
I was trying to take some self-portraits of Wyatt and myself the other day and after looking at how the pictures turned out they reminded me of a similar type picture that I had taken with Gavin. I did some digging and was able to find the picture. What do you think? Both boys have similar expression on their faces. Apparently they weren’t too thrilled with my attempt at a photo shoot :).

Funny guy
Thought I would post an update on Gavin and some funny stories/sayings that he has lately. Gavin continues to entertain us daily and right now loves construction trucks. It helps that they are building a new road near our house as he wants to go on a walk and see the diggers every night :). He also loves playing with legos and doing puzzles. I find him doing one of these two things almost every night when I pick him up from school. It amazes me how quickly he has learned to put together puzzles and loves building giant towers and airplanes with his legos and of course he still loves his dino’s and they are usually not too far from his side.
As far as funny stories/sayings while I was in Puerto Rico Ryan came up with the brilliant idea of the happy button (Gavin’s belly button) so anytime he woke up grumpy or was in a bad mood Ryan would ask if we needed to push his happy button and after doing so he would immediately start to smile and turn his mood around. So that next week when we were driving home from school out of nowhere Gavin says “Quick find that button, I’m not happy!”
Some other funny sayings of Gavin’s lately are that he’s grabbed on to the fact that they call the teachers Ms. or Mr. at school and has started call us Mr. Daddy and Mr. Mommy at home lol. Still hasn’t grasped that I would be a Ms. I think they also must address all the kids and say things like ok everyone head to the door we’re going outside or everyone find your chair it’s time to eat because now Gavin uses everybody all the time too and will say ‘ok, let’s go downstairs everybody’ or ‘watch me do this everybody’ even if it’s just us two in the room.
His observations are much more detailed now in that instead of just saying there a truck he says there’s a red and blue truck or that’s a circle and he’s in the stage where he asks lots of questions. What’s that smell, what’s he doing, where we going, what’s that about? It’s funny because any male or female adult to him is also a mommy or daddy so anytime I take him on an errand or we’re out and about and he sees some boys he always says loudly what’s that daddy doing, what’s he doing now, why is he doing that and on and on. It usually just makes them laugh but then he always repeats what I say really loudly so everyone can hear like ‘oh he’s just going to the bathroom’ which is always nice. Definitely have to be careful what you say!!

6 months!
We had Wyatt's 6 month checkup today and he is doing great. He was 18 lbs, 12ozs (75%) and 28 1/4 inches long (95%). He is rolling all over the place, reaching for toys and already scotching his bottom up in the air. He just discovered his feet a few weeks ago and loves putting them in his mouth along with everything else.
He is very strong and loves being able to stand up. If you pull him up by his arms he will immediately stand up and he loves being able to jump in the jumperoo. I definitely think he is going to crawl soon since he is so squirmy and will hardly sit still when you are holding him he just wants to be on the go.
He's been doing cereal for about a month now and really likes that. We just tried peas for the first time last night and that went really well also so hopefully this means he will be a good eater like his brother although we still have trouble getting him to finish his bottles at times but that seems to be getting better as well. He's still waking up once in the middle of the night to eat so I’m looking forward to hopefully getting rid of that feeding soon so we can get a little more sleep and also try moving him out of our room and see how it goes sharing with Gavin.
He continues to be such a sweet little boy and smiles all the time. Loves watching his brother do anything and Gavin is very much into him now as well and loves to help out by bringing him things or sharing his toys which is so sweet.
I also survived my first trip away from the boys. Ryan stayed home with the two boys while I headed to Puerto Rico for a quick trip with my family. I don’t think there is any way I would have been able to leave so soon if Ryan would have went with me but I survived and so did he although it wasn’t quite the relaxing vacation I was hoping for. We got to do a lot and see a lot in the four days that I was there which meant getting up early and staying up late. I think I probably got less sleep than I would have being home with a 6 month old but it was fun and worth it.
Here are some new pictures of the boys over this past month. They are just growing up so fast and this summer is zooming by!

Take me out to the ball game
Looks like we have an outing to a Royal's game in our future! We didn't even know he knew this song and he just started singing it the other day and now it's his favorite song to sing. Too cute!! We also found out this weekend that he can count to six in Spanish. We were trying to get him to show us how he can count to 20 and he just started counting in Spanish. We were both like when did you learn that!! It just makes me realize how much he really does learn at school and what a bright little boy he is with a memory like a sponge!

Happy 4th of July!
Hope everyone had a great 4th of July! We had a great time in KC with Jess, Jen, Jason and kids. Gavin had a blast playing with Avrie and they kept busy swimming at the pool, running through the sprinkler, playing with bubbles, going on walks and watching fireworks. Jason and Ryan also took Gavin and Avrie to see Cars 2. This was Gavin's first time at the movie theater and it sounds like they did pretty good for the first 30 minutes (until all the popcorn was gone) and then were ready to get up and roam around. I think both guys thought they would wait until they were 5 for the next movie lol but a fun experience. Overall we had a great weekend with lots of fun and good food.
