5 months!
Wow, Wyatt is 5 months old today, crazy!! He is officially rolling over and started a couple of weeks ago and loves rolling from his back to tummy and laying on his side now. He's also really interested in toys and loves putting things in his mouth and loves Gavin! Anytime he is near Wyatt is just mesmerized by what he's doing and Gavin just loves to help out and play with Wyatt. He had a couple of big firsts this weekend. It cleared off on Saturday so we headed to the pool after naps and he had his first dip in the water. It was a little cold still so he wasn't in it much but i think he liked it. He also tried cereal for the first time. He was a little unsure at first and i don't think much actually got in his mouth last night but we tried again today and he did better with the spoon and getting used to swallowing vs. spitting it out. He has a pretty easy gag reflex so i figured it would be a little rough so it actually went much better than i was expecting as he never made a bad face or gagged at all. Below are some fun pictures from the weekend and I'll try to post a video I took of him rolling over.

4 Months!

We had Wyatt's 4 month check up today and he is a growing boy! He was 16 lbs 8 ozs (70%)and 27 inches long (95%). He is doing great and is one happy, laid back baby. He smiles and giggles all the time which i love. I really need to try and capture him giggling on video because it is so cute. He loves sucking on his hands now and will reach for and grab toys and hold on to your shoulder when you are carrying him. We had a great Memorial weekend up in Minneapolis visiting Derek and Jenny. Gavin loved getting to play with Will and Addy and it was great to meet baby Evelynn who was such a good baby. Both boys did so good in the car and Gavin loved staying in a hotel. Below are a few new pictures of Wyatt/Gavin and some from this weekend.

Almost Two and a half
Thought I would post an update on Gavin since it has been awhile. Hard to believe he is going to be 2 ½ next month. He is just growing up so fast!! He is a busy boy and definitely keeps us on our feet. He is a very strong willed boy and can be very stubborn at times and wants to try and do everything on his own which is hard with some things and can result in a little tantrum if he doesn’t get his way. Probably the worst is anytime we are eating as we are still working on table manners since he likes to throw food on the floor and make a mess with his food all over the table and himself. Of course Roxy loves it but it’s not very fun to clean up for us. He’s definitely doing better but still has his moments and is so ornery now that he knows he’s not suppose to be doing it and will say I’m making a mess as he smashes his banana in his hands and all over the table.
He is all boy and loves going on walks and finding sticks, bugs, pine cones, bunnies and playing in the dirt. Right now he is OBSESSED with dinosaurs and pretty much doesn’t go anywhere without his T-Rex. He rides to school with us each day, goes in the bath, on walks and sleeps in his bed each night and typically in between he is chasing Roxy with his dino screaming ROAR. It’s so funny and Roxy usually gets tired of the game pretty quickly and Gavin doesn’t understand why she won’t keep playing saying I want to chase her. Wyatt’s in trouble when he gets old enough to move lol. He also loves watching movies about dinosaurs on our I-Pad. It amazes me how quickly he figured out how to work it and will say where’s my I-Pad when he wants to watch movies or play games.
I know I say this every time I write about Gavin but it still amazes me how much he is talking and how much he can remember and interpret from what we say. We definitely have to be careful what we say these days because he will remember and repeat everything. Luckily we haven’t said anything bad but just silly phrases that might slip out once and then I hear him saying them all the time like Oh my gosh or if he says something is a penguin in his book and I say it’s a woodpecker but it kind of looks like a penguin (in his defense it does look like a peguin :)) next time we read that book he says that’s a kind of penguin lol. Although he definitely tries our patience at times he is also the sweetest little boy and loves cuddling and giving hugs and kisses. Lately his big thing is opposites and he always wants a great big hug and then a teeny tiny kiss or when we are singing or reading at night he wants us to do it loud and then do it quiet.
He is much more interested in his brother now and wants to help all the time by going to get things and loves to put his pacifier in his mouth or will try to read him stories or shares his toys. He still loves to read books and some of his favorites right now are ABC’s, How do dinosaurs laugh out loud, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and the Foot Book. Most of these we’ve read so many times that he has the book memorized and can essentially read it himself. We are looking forward to the summer and getting to use our pool. I can’t wait to see how Gavin is in the water this year! The other day Gavin was rocking our rocking chair and wanted me to take his picture and it reminded me of a picture I took of him when he was 5 months old! I love this stage and how much he can interact with you and play but it also makes me tear up a little bit when I think of how big he’s getting and how quickly he’s growing up!!

3 Months!
It’s hard to believe Wyatt is 3 months old already. He is so much more interested in the world around him now and loves to sit on your lap and look around. I think he’s going to be a talker like his brother because he coo’s and babbles all the time and will just smile and giggle when you blow raspberries and coo/talk back. He has big brown eyes just like his brother and they are so expressive it just cracks me up sometimes all of the expression he can show in his eyes and how quickly he can go from smiling to concern to scared and back to smiling again. He’s rolled over a few times from his tummy to back but isn’t doing it consistently yet and he’s also not sleeping through the night yet. He has a few times always when we were away from home so not sure what that means but I guess I’m not expecting much anytime soon since Gavin didn’t for the longest time but am definitely looking forward to the day when I can get more sleep :). Eliminating dairy has definitely made a huge improvement and now we are thinking that he might also have Reflux since we’ve been having some issues nursing and his symptoms seem to lean towards Reflux so hopefully we can get that figured out soon too. Other than that he’s a pretty happy and content baby. I went back to work last week but have been able to work from home so I officially go back to the office next week and will definitely miss getting to spend time with this little guy each day. Below are a few new pictures and you can click on the picasa link for some more from this past month.

Happy Easter!
Hope everyone had a great Easter. The easter bunny visited us early on Saturday morning and then we headed back to iowa to spend the weekend with my family. Both boys did great in the car going up and coming home which was nice. We went to church in Des Moines on Saturday night and Gavin got to meet the Easter bunny. He loved giving him hugs and high-fives. He also had so much fun playing with Avrie. They are so cute together and usually will just chase each other around the house screaming and laughing. Gavin loved searching for eggs in the yard and learned pretty quickly that most eggs had jelly beans so after he collected a few eggs i think he became more interested in eating the candy out of them lol.
