Mommy and the boys!

This weekend was the first time that I have watched the boys overnight by myself. Ryan headed up to Ames yesterday morning for VEISHA and should be back sometime this afternoon. It has actually gone really well and we've had lots of fun although each boy has definitely had his moments/meltdowns. Gavin has especially been better than i expected which has really helped since I've had the boys home during the day by myself several times and it always seems like Gavin was extra ornery each time so i wasn't sure what i was getting myself into this weekend. Luckily it was nice here so we were able to go outside for a little bit and go for a walk. I'm so thankful that we didn't get the snow that they got in Iowa and other places. Last night before bed Wyatt was laying on the ground and Gavin decided he wanted to lay by him which is pretty unusual since usually he is so busy busy busy doing his thing that he doesn't really pay much attention to Wyatt right now. I thought that would be the perfect opportunity to get some new pictures of the two of them and Gavin was actually totally into it with lots of smiles for the camera. He did get annoyed after awhile because Wyatt kept hitting him with his arm. I tried to explain that he can't control his arms but i don't think Gavin bought it lol so we had to adjust the position a little. I even got in there for a couple although as you can tell i look a little rough. Not much me time when you're running around after one boy and hauling the other. Lots of exercise going up and down the stairs :). Overall a good day but we are looking forward to daddy getting home later today.

2 Months!

We had our 2 month check up for Wyatt this morning and he is a growing boy! He was 13 lbs 12 ozs and 24 1/4 inches long, both 90%. He is definitely catching up to his brother who was just a little bigger at this point. He's in good health and did really well with his first round of shots. The poor little guy is still dealing with gas issues and i had attempted to limit my dairy before to see if that would help but found that I eat a lot of dairy! After talking to the doctor she said to definitely try eliminating milk since lots of babies have an intolerance to lactose and that it wouldn't hurt to remove all dairy for awhile to see if it helps and then slowly bring it back. Although i love and will definitely miss my milk, cheese and yogurt i think at this point i would much rather get some sleep and have a happier baby plus it will probably help me drop the rest of this pregnancy weight faster since I won't be chowing down on pizza and Sheridans custard :). Overall we are doing well and adjusting nicely to being a family of four. We've enjoyed a few really nice days here lately and are ready for Spring to be here for good. These past two months have flown by and it's hard to believe i will be going back to work soon! Here are a few favorite pictures of Wyatt over the month and you can check out more in the Feb 2011 album in the Picasa link.

Gavin

I had to add a few cute pictures of Gavin that we took the other night. It is so rare that he will actually stop, smile and take a picture.

We are also on night two with no pacifier!! Each night when he asks for his pacifier we've been reminding him that they are really for babies and that he's a big boy. Our plan was to go cold turkey with him in about a month if he didn't give it up on his own but he decided Tuesday morning after he woke up that he wanted to throw them away. We quickly got them out of the trash just in case but thought this was our chance. That night he desperately wanted them back and even tried to dig through the trash but after some convincing and bribes for a special treat in the morning he went to bed without them and successfully slept last night without one too. Hopefully we can keep this up and it will be gone for good!

Our Nephew is here!

Jen and Jason welcomed Rush Charles this morning. He was 7 pounds 7 ounces. We can't wait to meet him this weekend!!

One month old!

It's hard to believe that Wyatt is already one month old! He is a growing boy, growing out of most of his newborn outfits and moving up to size one diapers. He's just recently started smiling and cooing which i love and has been sleeping a little better at night. The big thing right now that we have been dealing with is gas. Hopefully we can get over this soon because it's so hard to see him cry in pain and wake up in pain because of it. Gavin has been very active lately and has been able to enjoy some time outside with some of our warmer weather and has had fun playing basketball with daddy in the basement when we are couped up inside. Below are some new pictures of our guys. This weekend we are making our first road trip to Iowa so i'm hoping everything goes well and Wyatt does ok with the long car ride.

2 weeks

We had Wyatt's 2 week check up today and he's doing great and a growing boy. He weighed 8 lbs and 9 ozs (surpassed his birth weight yay!) and was 22 inches long. Here's a few new pics.
