1 week

Wow, it's hard to believe that Wyatt is already a week old!! He is such a good baby, only really cries if he's hungry or wet and we are enjoying loving on him so much. Ryan wasn't planning on taking much time off from work this time around but we happened to get a blizzard here in KC so it worked out that him and Gavin were able to stay home with us the first part of this week and we were able to do some bonding as a family of 4. Gavin is being such a good big brother. He loves giving Wyatt kisses or reading him books or trying to share his toys. The only item that caused a little tension at first is that he wasn't too happy to have Wyatt sitting in our yellow baby seat. He kept saying mine and trying to sit in it but i think we've gotten over that lol. Gavin also transitioned to the his new two year old classroom this week and so far it has gone really well. I wasn't sure how he would take the transition since he loves his teachers in his old room but they do a really good job of easing the transition in and a couple of his old buddies are in his new room so he's really enjoying playing with the big boys!

Here's a pic of Wyatt and Gavin around a week old:

He's here!

We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Wyatt Kenton Springer. He was born at 4:06 and is 8 lbs 6 ozs and 20.5 inches long. We will try to post some pics soon!

Update

Nicole was checked at 10am and was 4 centimeters dilated. Started to get some painful contractions around 11 and went ahead with an epidermal. Epidermal put in 15 minutes ago, just checked again and is 9cm dialated!

8:15 am

At the hospital - dr just came in and broke Nicole's water. Dilated to a 3, contractions are getting bigger but not too bad yet.

39 Weeks!

I had my doctor's appointment today and we scheduled an induction for tomorrow morning. He's going to break my water and hope that will bring on my contrations so we can hopefully have a better chance at a VBAC then continuing to wait and let the baby get bigger and bigger. I'll have Ryan try to keep the blog updated tomorrow with the progress. Keep us in your thoughts and prayers! We are very excited to finally get to meet this little guy!

38 weeks

I had my doctor's appt today and was 2+ cm dialated and 80% effaced so making some progress! We also had an ultrasound and the baby was measuring 7 lbs 13 ozs so a big baby but not as big as i was afraid he was going to be. I have another appointment in a week and since the baby wasn't measuring over 8 lbs they thought i was ok to go another week. So if i don't go into labor before my next appt. i'm thinking then we might pick a date for sometime that week to possibly induce. We'll see! I'm going to try and do lots of walking to see if that might help put me in labor sooner rather than later :).
