6 weeks

Gavin turned 6 weeks on Tuesday and shocked mommy and daddy by sleeping the entire night. We couldn't believe it when we looked at the clock that morning and realized how late it was. We were hoping the trend would continue but he hasn't gone an entire night since although it is getting much better with him usually only getting up once during the night to eat and get his diaper changed. Yesterday was an exciting day because i finally got to see Gavin roll over! Unfortunetly he was too quick and i wasn't able to grab the camera in time. We were also able to enjoy the nice weather here and did a little shopping at an outdoor outlet mall. I was able to pick up some really cute things for him from the baby gap. On a sad note i can't believe how fast time is going and that my maternity leave is already half way over. We have so much fun at home especially now that he is more awake and playful so i'm thankfull that i still have a few more weeks of playtime left with him. Enjoy the new pictures!

One month old

Gavin turned one month old on Friday! It's amazing to see how much he has grown and changed since we brought him home from the hospital. When he is awake now he is very alert and very curious always looking around and taking everything in around him. He also smiles all the time now which is so much fun! These past two weeks he has been a busy boy. Last weekend my parents and grandparents (my mom's mom & dad) came down to visit. My grandparents got to meet Gavin for the first time and also see our house which was nice. We had a great weekend hanging out at home and enjoying my dad's amazing homemade pizza. My dad also brought down the cradle that he made Gavin. Gavin slept in it for the first time last night and slept for 5 hours straight giving mommy and daddy some much needed rest.

On Tuesday Ryan was playing with Gavin and he rolled over for the first time from his tummy to his back. I couldn't believe it when Ryan told me but he is a very strong boy. Hopefully next time he does it i'll be around to see it and we can capture it on video. This weekend was our first road trip to Iowa. Gavin did a great job in the car and slept almost the entire way both there and back. We got his pictures taken on Saturday morning. I was so worried that he would be fussy but he did a great job and I can't wait to see the pictures. We stayed in Des Moines on Saturday night and Gavin got to meet some of our friends as well as Ryan's Aunt Jackie, Uncle John and cousins Katie and Maggie. Then my parents had a dinner at their house on Sunday and Gavin finally got to meet Jess and my grandma Ramona and Great Aunt Doris. Overall it was a great weekend and thankfully Ryan had today off so we were able to chill at home and get back into our routine. Enjoy the new pictures. 3 weeks old

Today is Gavin's 3 week birthday! It's been so much fun to watch and see how much he changes every day. We enjoyed the warm weather here on Saturday and took Gavin for his first ride in the stroller. I think he really liked it and we look forward to spring so we can go on more walks. Enjoy the new pictures.

2 weeks

I can't believe that Gavin is 2 weeks old today! This past week has flown by. Over the weekend Gavin got to see Grandma and Grandpa Springer again and got to meet Derek, Jenny and cousin Will. He also got to meet Roxy for the first time. They seem to be getting along well although Roxy still doesn't know quite what to think when he's crying. Ryan went back to work this week so it's just been me and Gavin at home during the day. Ryan was such a huge help over the past two weeks. We definitely miss him during the day and can't wait for him to get home in the evenings!

Gavin had his 2 week appointment on Monday and he is doing great. He is a great eater and already weights 9lbs 14ozs! Overall he's a pretty happy baby as long as he's full and has a clean diaper. One Week Old!

I can't believe Gavin is already one week old today! We have had so much fun with him and find ourselves just watching him to see what new facial expressions he's going to do next. Gavin ventured out of the house for the first time yesterday since leaving the hospital. We had an appointment with a lactation consultant and also made a trip to babies r us. Our appointment went great. Gavin is doing a great job feeding. The goal is to have him get back to his birth weight within 2 weeks. When we left the hospital he weighed 8lbs 9ozs and when they weighted him yesterday he was already back up to 9lbs 3ozs. We have another quick appointment on Friday to check his weight again to make sure he is still making progress but so far he is doing great. Yesterday Ryan and I also gave him his first bath. Welcome Home!

Gavin got to come home from the hospital yesterday around 3 and we're all happy to be home. Gavin got to meet Grandma and Grandpa Reynolds and Jen, Jason and cousin Avrie. We've been enjoying our time at home although our first night was a little rough. Sleep was hard to come by but we are getting into more of a routine and Gavin is doing great today. Even watched his first Iowa State basketball game! Keith and Jan are watching Roxy so Gavin won't get to meet her until next weekend. This has been a huge help and it will be interesting to see how Roxy reacts to the new addition.
