15 months

Gavin has been quite the busy boy and we have been enjoying the nice warm weather. We try to go on a wagon ride around the block each night and last weekend took our first trip to the park. Gavin loved walking all around the playground and going down the slides. This weekend we headed up to Iowa to see Ryan’s parents and Derek, Jenny, Will and Addy. We had a great time. On Saturday we headed up to Ames to see the VEISHA parade and today the kids played together at another park. Gavin got his first taste of sand and apparently it didn’t bother him too much since he tried to put it in his mouth 3 times. We had his 15 month check up on Friday and he was 90% in both weight and height (27lbs 10ozs and 32 ½ inches tall). He has eight teeth and is in the process of getting all four of his molars. It was pretty hairy at first but once we finally figured out what was going on and he got a little Motrin they haven’t seemed to bother him too much since. He still talks all the time and does a really good job of trying to repeat most of the words you tell him and understands so much now. His new thing that he’s started lately is to say yeah when you ask him any question which is so cute. Here are a few pictures from the last few weeks. Happy Easter!

Hope everyone had a nice Easter! We had a great time in Osceola with family. Gavin loved the easter egg hunt and had so much fun playing with Avrie.

14 Months!

Gavin turned 14 months on Saturday and has grown up so much. He’s such a big boy now!! He has developed quite the personality and is so much more outgoing now. He waves at everyone he sees when we are out and about which is so cute and definitely gets us lots of attention. He loves playing with his blocks and cars and drum set and loves reading books especially ones with animals. We pulled out the baby Einstein Old McDonald dvd about a month ago and Gavin was mesmerized. He loves the animals and will sing e-i-e-i-o along with the video, it’s so cute! Within this last week Gavin has really started walking quite a bit and is getting more and more confidence to take off on his own. Nothing is safe anymore. I think it’s time to do some more baby proofing. It’s been a rough month with two ear infections and a nasty cold but he’s been a trooper through it all and we are all looking forward to the end of this LONG winter. This past weekend my parents came down and helped us replace some carpet in our basement with tile. We are doing all the finishing touches next weekend so I will post before and after pictures when we are done but it already looks SO much better than the dirty carpet that was down there before. Happy Valentine's weekend everyone! Enjoy the new pictures. Gavin is growing like crazy and so close to walking! He just goes a mile a minute and has no fear. Most of the time he thinks he can walk so he just pulls up on something an takes off and takes a few steps and then crashes since he doesn't have much balance yet. He started daycare at the beginning of this month. The first week was a little rough and quite an adjustment but last week went really well and he really likes playing with all the little kids and we can alreay tell that he is learning alot. He's still talking a ton. Some of his new favorite words are nana(banana), cracker and milk (see a pattern here, he still loves to eat lol!)
