Easter 2017

We went to church on Saturday and the kids were really good during the entire service.  Ainsley and Lincoln spotted the Easter bunny after church and were totally into him :).  We didn't have any plans the rest of the day so we just hung at home.

Easter morning Ainsley was up super early and the boys followed shortly.  They were all so excited to see what was in their easter baskets.

We headed to Jen's for lunch and had way to much delicious food.  The weather was amazing and they kids had so much fun playing outside and going on a huge egg hunt.

After Jen's we headed over to the Springer's for more fun and food.  Such a great day with family but boy were we all worn out that night :).

St. Patrick's day fun

St. Patrick's day landed on a Friday and the weather was gorgeous so we all dressed in our green and spent most of the day outside.

For dinner Ryan and Gavin were really wanting onion rings lol so we found a new restaurant that was know for having the best thin onion rings in town.  The food was really good but Gavin ate about a pound of onion rings (more on this later).  Afterwards we celebrated with Shamrock shakes to end the night.

When we were putting Gavin to bed that night he said he didn't feel well and low and behold he woke up around midnight and had puked in his bed and right outside our bedroom door.  Bright green and smelling like nasty onion rings.  Needless to say he ate way too much greasy food and I don't think any of us will be going back to that restaurant or eating onion rings anytime soon!

Spring Break fun

The boys were off last week for spring break.  Unfortunately we didn't have the greatest weather for most of the week.  One day it even snowed.  Thankfully it didn't last long but we made the best of it with some sledding and the kids had a blast.  Ainsley discovered her love of eating snow :).

Ryan took off Thursday and Friday and early Thursday morning we headed to Omaha and explored the zoo all morning.  The kids had a blast.  Lincoln's favorite was the bears, Wyatt loved the lizards and Gavin liked the sharks.  It was Ainsley's first time and she just loved it all especially getting out of the stroller and getting to explore on her own.  We did have a close encounter with some peacocks during lunch when one just walked right up to Ainsley and snatched her sandwich right off the stroller tray lol.  It didn't bother her one bit but they really freaked Lincoln out.

After the zoo we headed to CocoKeys water resort for a couple of hours of swimming.  The kids loved the pool and it wore them out so everyone was good and ready for bed when we got home.  A quick trip but so fun!

Wyatt hitting the jackpot and winning 1000 tickets at the arcade :)

6 and 8 year old check ups

The boys had their check ups on the 24th which worked out well because they didn't have school but i also had to take all 4 of them so i was a little nervous giving how they usually handle these visits.  Due to their constant freak outs about finger pricks and shots i didn't even tell them about the visit until the morning of and only because Gavin kept asking when it would be and said he knew it had to be coming up soon.

Honestly they were both handling it really well and saying that it was no big deal so i thought yay maybe this will be the first year with no tears.  The appointment was at 10 and as soon as we got there Wyatt started saying he was scared and asking every nurse if he was going to get shots.  Once we got into the room Gavin started freaking out about getting his finger prick and I think scared Wyatt as well because they both started panicking and crying.  Thank goodness for Wyatt because the nurse came in and said we can do this the easy way where you sit here and get it done or the hard way where we hold you down.  Luckily he thought in his head I don't want the hard way so he volunteered to go first.

The nurse did her business and it was over before he even knew it.  No tears and he said that's it.  That was easy!  Gavin was next and was still very nervous but less afraid after Wyatt's reaction and he pretty much handled it the same way.  Afterwards i made them take this little video so i can whip it out next year if they start freaking out again about shots lol.

Both are doing well and growing!  I listed their stats below.  So glad that's over :).

Gavin: 52.5 inches (79%), 60 lbs 12 ozs (63%)
Wyatt: 46.5 inches (66%), 48 lbs 3 ozs (61%)
