Honeycreek

Last weekend we did a quick trip to Honeycreek resort and the kids had so much fun.  The hotel was so cute and they had a waterpark that the kids loved.  It was the perfect size for them.  Gavin and Wyatt could touch in the big pool and lazy river so they could pretty much swim on their own with little supervision which was nice.  They also had a kid pool with a pirate ship that was the perfect size for Lincoln and Ainsley and Ainsley was quite the little fish.  No fear in the water at all. Gavin was the only one tall enough to ride the water slide and he went down it a million times.

Love this picture.  Wyatt doing the monkey bars which he loved and you can see Gavin coming down the water slide :)

The kids swam most the day on Saturday and Lincoln totally crashed afterwards :).  The big boys played a little in the arcade while he slept.

Ainsley and Lincoln had a blast running in the hotel halls and they had tons of board games, a wii and a ping pong table in the lobby for the kids to play with Saturday night and Sunday morning.  We did a little more swimming Sunday morning before heading home for quick naps and basketball to round out the weekend.

Christmas Vacation/NYE

We hung low over Christmas vacation.  Lots of playing at home which made me go a little stir crazy with 3 rowdy boys :).  We did go swimming at the Y three times to burn some energy.  We also played at the park one morning but only lasted about 15 minutes because it was a little too cold but warmed up with some hot cocoa afterwards and then played a round of pie in the face :).  My grandparents had their Christmas on Friday.  It was fun to see everyone for the afternoon but Ryan was working so it was just me and the kids so i was pretty busy trying to make sure they didn't destroy the place lol.

New Years Eve was pretty chill.  We had movie night with homemade popcorn and then watched a few ball drop videos on Netflix before bedtime.  No staying up till midnight with this crew.  Maybe next year when everyone is sleeping better :).

New years day didn't quite pan out how we would have expected.  The boys went over to Keith and Jan's house to play in the morning.  We were just going to do a few things around the house but then Ryan was playing with Ainsley and she got hurt, He was hanging onto her hands and she was jumping when she started crying really bad and wouldn't let us touch her arm.  It wasn't getting any better so we decided to head to urgent care and after waiting about 2 hours (the place was packed!) we found out she had separated her arm at the elbow and the doctor quickly popped it back in.  We felt awful but apparently it happens all the time and it was amazing the difference in her once it was popped back in.  It was like nothing ever happened.  It's amazing that we made it to our 4th kid before ever needing a trip to Urgent Care and hoping that we don't have to make another trip anytime soon.

Christmas 2016

All the kids actually slept pretty well Christmas Eve.  Ainsley was up shortly after 5 but Gavin and Wyatt slept in until almost 6:30 and then we ended up waking up Lincoln so they could open presents.  It was fun to watch all the kids open their gifts and Ainsley really got into it this year.  Gavin and Wyatt got some legos, pokemon and a WiiU.  Lincoln loved his new robot dino which was his big ask from Santa and Ainsley got a Little people princess castle and baby stroller.

After presents we had cinnamon rolls and breakfast casserole and just chilled at home the rest of the afternoon.  After naps we headed over to Ryan’s parents and exchanged gifts there and the kids got to have root beer floats for dinner which was a sweet surprise.

Just for fun adding our little elf video that we made.  It cracks me up every time I watch it!

Christmas Eve

We did things a little different this year and went to the Christmas Eve Eve church service at 3 and then had everyone over to our house for dinner and drinks which was really fun.  The kids did great at church especially since it was around 2 hours.  I tried to get a few pictures of the kids looking all cute beforehand but Ainsley was not having it J.

Christmas Eve we headed to my parents’ house after naps for dinner and gifts.  The kids had a blast getting to play with their cousins and were well worn out and ready for Santa to come once we got home.  We tucked the kids in and read the night before Christmas.  Gavin was going to try and stay up to catch Santa but decided he would try that next year instead J.

Springer Christmas

The weekend of the 17th we celebrated Christmas with the Springer clan.  The cousins got to exchange gifts on Friday night and the kids loved getting to spend some extra time playing with Will, Addy and Evie.  Saturday I headed up to Ames to watch my mom graduate from ISU.  So amazing to see her accomplish such a big goal of hers then that night we got together for the big Springer family gathering.  It was nice to see everyone and catch up although we never quite get to chat as much as we’d like since most of the time we’re chasing after little ones J.
