Pumpkin Carving

We carved our pumpkins on Sunday.  All the boys got in on the action and had fun scooping out all the gunk and seeds.  Poor Wyatt got a weird spaghetti pumpkin which I have never seen before but every time you tried to scope it out it just came out like spaghetti.  He was so determined and kept scoping and scoping long after the other two were done and it just never seemed to end so we finally just decided to go ahead and carve it and luckily that still worked.

Wyatt and Gavin also got into the carving action a little this year and helped carve the pumpkin faces.

Here’s the finished product!  Gavin's is a storm trooper, Wyatt's Darth Vader, Lincoln wanted a scary face and Ainsley a silly one.  We are all ready for Halloween J.

Wyatt - Soccer

Wyatt had his last soccer game of the fall season on Sunday.  For their last game all the kids got to play in their Halloween costumes which they loved and the weather was perfect!  After watching Gavin play soccer Wyatt really wanted to and he did so much better this year compared to last year.  He definitely had his moments where he was much more into the game on some days vs. others.  When he was really into it he did awesome and usually scored a couple of goals and other off days he wasn’t too into the game and just kind of let the kids run around him.  The nice thing about Happy Feet which we love is that all the kids do their warm ups in the beginning and they use games to learn the different soccer skills and then they go right into the game for the second half so there’s no waiting around which keeps the kids attention.  Overall he had a great time and two of his best games were this last one when he got to channel his inner Darth Vader and the game that Ryan went to and told him to pretend he was playing Gavin and he got super aggressive lol.  I guess we know what drives this kid.

Night Eyes

We started our Halloween festivities early by heading to the zoo last Sunday for Night Eyes.  Ryan stayed home with Ainsley so i got some fun time with the boys.  They had a blast trick or treating through the zoo and seeing some of the big animals like the tiger, leopards and lions which were so active.  Plus we had a perfect ending to the night when we stumbled upon the star wars characters.  To stay that Wyatt and Gavin were excited is an understatement.  Especially Wyatt, he was in love :).

Ainsley - 4 months

4 months old! Time slow down please J.  Ainsley has learned lots of new skills over the last month.  She loves to kick and grab at toys now and is really wiggly.  She’s rolled over a few times but isn’t doing it consistently.  Now when she is doing tummy time she really scotches her bottom into the air and moves her legs almost like she’s trying to crawl and she loves pushing off with her feet and rolling to her side now which makes diaper changes a little harder.

She smiles and talks all the time and loves getting attention from people.  She’s a great eater and still sleeps pretty well at night as long she’s not having issues with gas.  She loves looking at herself in the mirror.  She gets so excited and waves her arms, kicks her legs and smiles it is so cute.   She also loves watching her brothers and will smile and look anytime she hears them talk and they have been very good about being patient around her, giving her gentle hugs and pats and being quiet while she is sleeping.

She is growing like a weed.  She’s wearing size 2 diapers right now but about to move into size 3 and most of her clothes now are 6 months.  We had her check up on Wednesday and she did amazing.  Her last check-up was a little rough because she was super fussy all day after getting her shots but she was mostly just sleepy this time around.  She was 14 lbs 10 ozs (74%) and 25.5 inches long (91%).

She just has the sweetest little personality and we look forward to all the fun changes that will come over the next month.
