Happy 30th Birthday Ryan!
Wow, it's so weird to think that we are entering our 30's. Ryan a little sooner than me :). We have had fun celebrating Ryan's birthday. His parents came down on Saturday to watch the boys so we could actually go out on a date and sleep in the next morning. I can't even remember the last time we've had a night out without the kids so we definitely enjoyed the time. Then my parents came down for a quick trip on Sunday and we enjoyed the gorgeous weather with a trip to the park and had pizza and ice cream cake. Tonight we had more cake with daddy and then opened presents. Gavin is really loving celebrating birthdays and singing Happy Birthday. Luckily we have another one to celebrate this weekend as Rush turns one. Just for fun here's some pics of Ryan when he was little. Isn't he a cutie!
Rough couple of weeks
As the title states it has been a rough few weeks at our house. It started with Wyatt being really fussy and irritable last weekend and he was also starting to cough quite a bit so we were afraid he was getting sick. On Monday night I could hardly sleep because I kept hearing him on the monitor and he was breathing so heavy and sounded like he could hardly catch his breath. We ended up taking him to the dr. on Tuesday morning and found out the poor little guy had RSV. We weren’t that surprised because it had been going around daycare but had never really experienced this before and boy was it awful. They had me give him a breathing treatment while we were there and that was quite the experience. Wyatt absolutely hated it and fought with me the entire time I was trying to hold it on his face and it was all I could do to keep it on and keep him from jumping from my lap which was not fun. They did send us home with a breathing treatment and luckily it was the inhaler which Wyatt still hated but wasn’t as bad because we didn’t have to hold it on so long. That afternoon he started to develop a lovely rash all over his body and I kind of dismissed it because it wasn’t bothering him and I remembered the doctor saying that this can happen after your 1 yr shots but then on Wednesday when he woke up it was much worse and after doing some searching online it seemed pretty rare to have a rash show up almost 3 ½ weeks later so into the doctor we went again. They tested him for Strep but luckily that came back negative so they just thought it was probably caused by another virus since rashes aren’t usually associated with RSV. Luckily by the following Monday Wyatt seemed to be feeling much better and was back to the smiley boy we knew but I managed to come down with the worst cold/sinus infection I have ever had so that was no fun. I’m finally just today feeling mostly normal and luckily both Gavin and Ryan have remained healthy. Gavin’s been coughing a little bit but it hasn’t amounted to too much so far. Wyatt was a little warm and fussy this weekend so we are really hoping he is just teething and not picking up a new cold and possibly an ear infection. Luckily today he seemed to be in pretty good spirits after he welcomed daddy this morning with a major blowout in the crib. Always a great way to start the morning J.

Kids say the darndest things
In an attempt to record some of the funny things that Gavin says (and eventually Wyatt) I added a new link to the right that you can click on to bring up a page of sayings from our funny guy J.

Children's Museum
I bought a groupon for 1/2 price admission to a children's museum forever ago and almost forgot all about it until i found it in my purse and noticed that it was going to expire in a few weeks so we decided to head out there yesterday and check it out. The boys had so much fun and the place was really neat and not crowded at all. Below are a few pictures from our trip. Gavin's favorite part was the water room and we ended up having to about drag him out when it was time to go home :). We will definitely be making another trip soon. If only it was a little closer we'd probably be going all the time!

Birthday Party!
We had such a fun time celebrating Wyatt's birthday with friends and family. Below are some pictures from the party. Wyatt was so funny when it came time to eat his cake. He just kept starring at the cake trying to figure out in his mind how he was going to pick it up since it was so big. Finally when he realized that probably wouldn't work he tried to figure out how he could just get his mouth down to the cake. We propped it up for him and he just lowered his mouth and took a bite, no hands haha. So different from his brother who just dug in and made a huge mess. He also had fun opening his presents and had lots of little helpers :).
We did the Very Hungry Caterpillar theme and I thought it turned out so cute and the cake was so so yummy!

Both boys also had their check-ups on Friday and are growing boys! Gavin was 38 lbs and 38 1/2 inches tall and Wyatt was 24 lbs and 31 1/2 inches tall. The doctor was impressed with how vocal Gavin was and was impressed with how well Wyatt did with his exam. We did find out that Wyatt still has his ear infection and did get 3 shots which is no fun but he was such a trooper. We have been enjoying the nice weather we have been experiencing this winter and can't believe it's going to be in the 60's next week!!

Happy First Birthday Wyatt!
Happy Birthday Wyatt! We can't believe you're already one and getting so big! On one hand it seems like it's been ages since you were a newborn and we were getting no sleep but on the other hand it seems these months just flew by and I wonder where this year went. We are so blessed to have you in our lives and just can't wait to see the little man that you will become and looking forward to seeing the bond between you and your brother grow stronger :)
More to come. We have checkups tomorrow for both boys and Wyatt's party on Saturday in Iowa but we sure had fun celebrating tonight as a family and Wyatt loved his cupcake.
