11 Months!

We officially have a crawler! Gavin finally started crawling a few weeks ago. He mostly army crawls at this point but is getting very fast especially if he is after something he really wants. It’s so funny because we tried forever to find something that he would want bad enough that he would actually push himself to crawl forwards and finally it ended up being the dog’s toys that he went after! It still makes me laugh that out of all his toys he just wants to play with the dogs and still races after them today. We ended up buying him a stocking full of new dog toys for him to play with to try and prevent him from putting the real ones in his mouth although it still happens :). Gavin is quite the talker these days and will say mama, dad, dog (although it sounds like gog), diaper, car and will sometimes say all done. He also still loves eating especially ‘real’ food and just says yum, yum, yum while shoving handfuls of it in his mouth. Enjoy the new pictures. Hope everyone has a great holiday. First Haircut!

Gavin had his first haircut tonight! He did such a great job and sat through most of it pretty happy and only got a little upset when they pulled out the electric trimmer. The place we took him was so cute. He got to sit in a hummer chair and he got a first haircut certificate with the before and after pictures below. Check out his new do! He looks like such a Big Boy!

10 Months!

Wow, it’s hard to believe that Gavin is already 10 months old and will be a year in only 2 months! Where did our baby go?!?! It definitely seems like he is learning something new every day. Below are some fun new things Gavin is up to these days:
-can clap his hands and give hi-fives
-is not yet crawling but gets all over the place by scotching on his stomach and rolling and walks really well when holding onto his hands.
-his top two teeth just broke through not too long ago so he now has 4 teeth
-he is eating mostly table food now and LOVES being able to feed himself. We haven’t really found anything that he doesn’t like so we feel very lucky not to have a picky eater.
-Talks all the time and is recognizing more and more words. Will look for his football if you ask where it is and also looks for the dog who is now his best friend since she gets little snacks every time he eats ;)
-overall is a pretty happy baby. He smiles and laughs all the time and his laugh is so contagious I just love it!
-Loves his musical table and just started dancing to the music which is hilarious.

Happy Halloween!

Hope everyone had a great halloween! Last weekend we took Gavin to his first pumpkin patch. He had a fun time looking at all the pumpkins, animals and people. For halloween we dressed him as a monkey and he looked so cute in his costume. We decided not to take him door to door but he did help us hand out candy to all the kids in our neighboorhood. 9 months!!

It's hard to believe our baby is already nine months old! Where did the time go?!?! We had Gavin's 9 month check up on Friday and he is doing great. Still in the 95+ percentile with a weight of 23 lbs 10 ozs and 30.5 inches long. He's rolling all over the place and isn't quite crawling yet but does push up on his hands and scotch backwards and is now saying mama :). He loves cheerios and puffs and is just starting to try some real food like baked potato and bananas. He is definitely keeping us busy and very entertained these days. Arrowhead

This weekend my family and Ryan's family were in town for the Iowa State - K State game at arrowhead. We had so much fun at the game (until the end!) and Gavin loved getting to play with all his cousins. Enjoy the pictures and video.
